Historically the Romans actually followed the Greeks until they defeated them in 146 B.C.. Their idealistic differences are well known when comparing artworks. While the Greeks are more focused on God's and power, Romans use their art for decoration depicting reality and beauty. I have paintings hung up all over my house. Looking into a painting can take you to a whole nother place and allows your mind to travel never seen locations. This is where the Romans have the Greeks beat. The Romans were far more creative with their colorful painting morals, and they're painted portraits. Therefore the Romans in my opinion are better than the Greeks. No other place is known for their unique structures and buildings as the Romans are. They are literally known as "The Great Builders". They built we'll know Aqueducts, roads, baths, walls, theaters, temples, arcs, cities, palaces you name it. Some of the things they built still stand to day and are visited year around. They are also known for creating the alphabet that we use today minus the fact that we added a couple of letters such as "W". In some circumstances we use Roman numerals from time to time and everybody is required to know how that is to be done. The Romans also created the Twelve Tablet and Justinian Code which we take for granted. They created basic laws and wrote them down on twelve bronze plates which was known as the Twelve Tablet. Later in all of them were constructed together in one piece known as the Justinian Law, which forms the basis of all today's justice system in the western world.
