There is a lot of tension in the house as depicted by the characters. On the contrary, Thrushcross Grange reflects love, kindness and peace. Heathcliff is very dark like Wuthering Heights, he is isolated from the life of the Earnshaw’s and he is the one who has the greatest association with Wuthering Heights. As as young boy he lived and grew up side by side of Catherine and Hindley as an interloper. Later on in his adult years Heathcliff becomes more distant by force from Catherine and Hindley. He adopts the role of an anomaly. He does not fit in where he once lived and grew up. This separation prevails throughout the novel and creates a larger gap between the characters. Ultimately, Heathcliff is unable to return to normalcy or at least his presumed normalcy at Wuthering Heights.
