Research Paper 1- Will North and South Korea ever Reunite

When most people think about North and South Korea, they think of two nations that will never be able to reconcile and be able to reunite, two nations that have been at each other’s throats for a long time. I am one of those people. In my opinion there are many reasons why they will not be able to reunite as one nation again. The first reason why I believe that these two very different nations will not be able reunite with each other is that, these nations are just two different to reunite evenly and fairly in the end. When you look at North Korea, many people see a tough nation.

This helped transform South Korea into one of the world 's major economies and a leading exporter of cars and electronic goods. (BBC.com) While North Korea may have the military power, the south has all of the industry and prospering economy that the North Koreans wish they had. In the end I believe that do to the differences between these two nations that if they tried to reunite that North Korea wouldn’t be peaceful with South Korea and if they did get into the South that they would take over by force if the South didn’t agree with it. Also they may just trick the south into signing and reuniting and in the end just make the south in their own images just with a better economy something they didn’t have on their own.
The second reason why I believe that North and South Korea will never reunite as one nation is that the United States of America would not allow them to. “The war between North and South Korea also inaugurated what became the U.S. policy of containment the idea that communism could not be allowed to spread beyond a certain geographical point”

In early September, the South offered food aid to the impoverished north for the first time in three years, given the closed nature of North Korean politics. (Kyung Lah)
At this point if they tried to reunite, I believe that the tension that is always on the people would boil over if they tried to reunite. I believe that the generations that were taught to hate each other for all of those years would continue to hate no matter what their governments say. I believe that it would then turn to riots, public protest, and civil unrest. There would be people always fighting and retaliating with each other. At that point I believe the people themselves would bring the country to its knees and basically burn it to the ground in mass chaos. Even though some people may think these two nations could maybe one day settle their differences, I do not. There are so many aspects of the culture, the difference in the economies and governments, and the people themselves. I believe that more than anything that if they did reconcile and proved me wrong they would be a huge global power. But I just don’t think they can do it though I believe that the new nation would be torn apart from the inside out. There have been so many incidences in the

Governments should be afraid of their people.” (V for Vendetta). This is directly speaking on how people from all over the country would have all the power if they were not afraid to voice their opinions. When the law no longer has the ability to protect the citizen’s basic rights, chaos is gradually formed, and in that moment one feels the need to take matters into their own hands. Power alone is the most dangerous form of running a country, which is why dictatorships are all ill-advised in today’s world. Power is the highest form of authority and control, when one is in a power position, it can be the most dangerous thing in the world.…

The army of the United States was marching forward to the North Korea disregard of China’s warnings, supposing that China will never take action against them. Then war was waged. If the United States would perceive precisely how much possibility that China will take to take part in the war, the United States will probably stop where it should stop and therefore prevent the war from happening. According to above we can learn that as a result of the information asymmetry and actions like keeping private information, misrepresenting private information, etc, the both parties cannot effectively form a bargaining range ahead of the war, which means as Powell(2004) argues that war is a strategical replacement of negotiation, and game interaction ends once the states decide to…

The consequences from the Iraq War resulted with 2,500 American deaths, tens of thousands of death of Iraqis many being civilians, humanitarian crisis, political and economic negative consequences, etc. President Bush’s reason to invade Iraq was to spread liberty around the world and to make world peace. After researching, many people do not truly do not think we had a legitimate enough reason to invade Iraq. I believe this goes back to the mentality America has of overthrowing foreign governments for ideological, political, and economic reasons. In my opinion, the Iraq War was the most compelling case for his argument of long term failure.…

Most people in United States disagreed with helping South Korea seeing how we had just come out of WWII and would eventually stir up the Cold War. Countries like Germany and Austria could not help seeing how WWII just ended and they needed to worry more about repairing their country at the time. To the United States the Korean War was a very unpopular because it was 3 years, took over 30,000 lives of US troops and was solved with a new boundary line that made a minor difference but the Korean War also had major effects on the Cold War and differences between the United States and the Soviet Union (Pach). The Korean War heavily affected North and South Korea and still affects North Korea today. The Korean War still has an effect on North Korea which is why North Korea is still building weapons and nuclear weapons to try and either hurt the United States or close countries that are allies with the United States today.…
