I think the Greeks were smarter and wealthier than other civilization, they had philosophers who were well educated and even the people who were not philosophers were somehow educated and they had free thinkers. Other civilizations like Egypt were smart too, but their thinking was not as advance as the Greek’s. We don’t credit the Egyptians or the birth of modern intellectualism, because the Greeks were the ones who introduced trading, governing, and writing.
