Advertisements are information that are intended to influence and prevail on their audience. Their purpose is to raise recognition of their commodity in the individuals whom they aim at, and to publicize the advantages and benefits of purchasing the product. Advertisements are seen and heard everywhere throughout our daily lives. The drive to work/school, watching TV and listening to the radio. You are being persuaded almost everyday of your life to buy or try out products without even realizing it. John B. Watson, founder of behaviorism had believed that in order for advertising to be effective, it should draw power to three inherent emotions: love, fear, and rage. The lipgloss is from a cosmetic corporation specializing in caring for your lips called Nivea Lip Care. The main image on this advertisement is a young women, probably in her early mid twenties. This youthful women is looking directly at you if you were to look at this image. This prevails the consumer to look at the advertisement because it almost feels as if she 's trying to reach out to you. Her eyes are engaging you into the picture. Across her face there is a text saying “ care & gloss.” Her lips are in a circular shape in replacement for the ‘o’ in gloss. The image is perceiving a “ look at me” face. At the bottom of the advertisement, it shows the lip gloss product and the logo of the company. It is a picture of what the product would look like if you saw it on a shelf at the store. The advertising company did this, so it helps promote more sales because anyone who has seen this advert, likes and wants to purchase the product, can go into the store and easily find this …show more content…
They intensified her cheekbones by highlighting it, which gives her a more thinner, prettier face. They also enhanced her lips by highlighting so it looks very glossy. This is extremely important because that is what the whole product is offering to the potential buyers. If it show that it gives off a beautiful glossy look as it shows in the avert, then more individuals will want to purchase the product. This advertisement is trying to convince you that your lips will be as glossy and taken care of, as in the picture of the advertisement. The “care & gloss” across the advert is exactly what is being shown and represented in this
