In “Star Trek- The Next Generation,” and “Gettysburg,” they both portray different views on the nature of man while using contrasting tones. For instance, passionate and defensive, in “Star Trek- The Next Generation,” the captain quotes parts of Shakespeare’s Hamlet to defend his position and mankind. The captain (Jean-Luc Picard) in the short clip seemed to be in an argument with another person that questioned the captain’s integrity as a human. This prompted the captain to defend himself, and says so in a very serious yet strong manner. He enunciates his words fully and leans in to prove his point that man is worthy enough. The captain even says “one day we will be god” to continue to defend himself. On the other hand, in “Gettysburg,” the
