Comparison Of Scrooge In The Christmas Carol

As a wise man once said “Strength lies in differences, not in similarities”. Scrooge in The Christmas Carol by Charles Dickison, is an old miser that is wealthy who didn’t care about others until three Christmas ghosts visited him and taught him a lesson about caring for others. George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life by Frank Capra, is a spirited adult who always lived his life helping others until something tragic happens and he gets visited by an angel. Scrooge and Bailey have similarities that are distinguishable , but they do have different lives, first of all there is a actions difference, different types of relationships , and also what makes them different is the angel and the three ghosts. George have done many great things to be recognized for, like when he was young and saved his brother from almost drowning, which the Scrooge would not do. In addition, George helped his master, even helping him not go to jail because his master mixed up the poison and herbs, saving another person’s life in the process even with a simple task. Scrooge when he was young, he was only lingering at a boarding school making him lonely, isolating from his favorite sister Fan how dies later. Also his obsession with money makes him even more loner, even driving away his love Belle who he meet at a christmas party. Even his interactions with his workers shows that he is an atrocious man. Even the book noted that he lives by himself in a big mansion, even supporting the fact he is greedy because mansions cost a lot and he secludes himself from everybody because he lives
