As a whole, the class average was around 60% percent, meaning the class is on the developing or adequate level of understanding the learning objective. A quarter of the class passed the assessment with 85 or better, which is considered a mastery under the math curriculum followed. Half the class scored a 65 or less. This shows that these students have a minimal to no understanding of the concept being taught. 8 out of the sixteen students understood procedurally and conceptually how to compare to objects with a third object.…

We did the same steps and multiplied 23 and 1000 then divided it by 75 to get x equals 307. So out of 1000 people, 307 would like a healthy food restaurant. For the Dippin’ dot’s proportions we set up another proportion for the students (5/40 = x/1000) we did all the same steps and multiplied 5 and 1000 then divided by 40. Once we did the math we figured out that out of 1000 students 125 would like Dippin’ dots. The adults was a little lower with the outcome and proportion (3/35 = x/1000).…

The use of ratios in epidemiology is different than the uses of portions and rates. In today’s epidemiology ratios are defined as the value obtained by dividing one quantity by another. This can be seen if one was to compare the number of motorcycle fatalities of men to female. So if 950 males died in a motorcycle and only 50 female the ratio would equate to 19:1 males to females. While a proportion is also a ratio where the numerator is part of the denominator commonly expressed as a percentage.…

The aim with the Grapes group is to be able to count sequentially with numbers above 1. The Grapes group is the lowest group of the class and has no areas where the students are confident to perform. The lesson on Monday has the focus of developing their addition ability foundation. Counting in sequential patterns demonstrates basic additive ability and provides insight on children's additive and place value ability. In this lesson students will be using materials initially to count up in groups just to help them form the knowledge of how to do so if they do not have it already (as they are the lowest group.)…

According to Jean Piaget, a well-known psychologist, children grow through a chain of four serious stages of cognitive development. Through observations he made of children, Piaget established a theory of knowledgeable development that included four distinct stages: the sensorimotor stage, from birth to the age 2, the preoperational stage, from age 2 to about the age of 7 and the concrete operational stage, ranging from age 7 to 11. The last stage he established was the formal operational stage, which begins in adolescence and spans into adulthood (The 4 stages). Piaget said the most striking features of children 's behavior happen within the first 2 years of life. The child 's world cannot yet be signified mentally so in a very literal…
