As in the journey through the Wonka’s factory, he is the only child who behaves nicely without constantly needs to be given more (Williams, 2016). In Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie and Grandpa Joe, once break the rule by drinking a must not drink soda. But, in the end, he can truthfully admit his fault. He also returns a forbidden candy that is given by Mr. Wonka which he used to test the children. While, in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie is drawn as a very obedient child. He is never done bad things. His patient in the end gives him a fruitful result. He gets a present that change his family’s life forever. Authoritative parenting style is proven to shape children’s character development even better since the parents balancing the children’s needs at the same time give them rules on how to or not to do
