Comparison Of O Brother Where Art Thou Vs The Odyssey

Decent Essays
The film adaptation keeps all of the significant events while putting a modern-day twist on the story. For example, in The Odyssey, Odysseus has been away from home for many years fighting the trojan war and is now trying to get home. Similarly Everet, in O! Brother where art thou?, has been away from home for many years in prison and is trying to find a treasure but his objectives later change to return to his family. In The Odyssey Odysseus and his crew go to the underworld to talk to Teiresias who will tell them their future but in the movie they catch a ride with their fortune teller on his handcar.
