Register to read the introduction… Romeo and Juliet are no different in this, which can be especially seen with Juliet in her candidly sexual soliloquy as she wonders, “Oh, I have bought the mansion of a love, But not possessed it, and though I am sold, Not yet enjoyed. So tedious is this day As is the night before some festival To an impatient child that hath new robes And may not wear them.” (III. ii. 26-31) She is complaining that she has yet to experience the “joys” of a married relationship, and impatiently awaits Romeo and begs the night to come sooner so they can be together until morning. Although this is something appropriate for a newlywed wife to say, considering she only met Romeo the day before, it seems she’s moving a bit fast and is making decisions based on sexual desire, rather than being with him for the sake of being together. Likewise, as said in an article by Judith Orloff, “Lust is an altered state of consciousness programmed by the primal urge to procreate. Studies suggest that the brain in this phase is much like a brain on drugs.” (Page 1) The two are acting based on sensual emotion, attraction and impulse, which all happen to be associated with lustful feelings; furthermore, acting on impulse isn’t exactly an uncommon theme in the play. With all of the things Romeo had said about Rosaline it suggests that he is feeling more lust than love. The only reason he even went to the party was to sulk over not being with her. But apparently all those feelings can just go away in an instant because the exact same thing happens with Juliet. Everything he had once felt went out the window with one look at a girl that he had for the first time made eye contact with. He then states “(Insert what Romeo said about Juliet)”…

In Conclusion, I think that Romeo is a young, inexperienced and impatient but loyal and brave boy. I think that his naivety plays a huge rule in this because love was taken as an extravagant feeling to have when it was not truly happy as the lovers can experience heartbreak and many other obstacles. It seems as if Romeo only more cautious and deliberate, his devastating ending could have been prevented (even though we have not finished the book yet). Amongst friends especially Mercutio, Romeo shows signs of his social and quick witted persona, even with his fond of verbal jousting that is mainly about sex. Lastly, Romeo is like every other male in the world who only unveils their true self to the people who they trust or who understand them.…

Infatuation and love are two vastly different types of affection that most people get confused between. It is likely to occur more so among a boy and a girl when they are young and inexperienced as opposed to when they’re grown and matured. Infatuation can easily be mistaken for love in many cases. In Romeo and Juliet infatuation is mistaken for love by the both of them, for what they had between them was not love due to the fact that they were not mature enough, love takes time to develop, and because it was based on physical attraction. Love deals with more than just looks.…

According to what I have said, it becomes clear that Romeo and Juliet's way of love is totally different from their parent's way of love; each party has his own rule of love and his specific own way to express such love. Obviously, Shakespeare draws this comparison between parental love and romantic love to show the audience that although love is seen as a natural, desirable, and beautiful feeling, one may express it in a way that could result in violence, and destructive acts, and anger is one of such destructive acts " If romantic relationships were a coin, affection and love would be one side; anger and conflict would be the other" (Lynch 140). What Lynch wants to say is that Love is really a noble feeling but at the same…

Romeo and Juliet lack true feelings for one another, while Romeo shows his lust by switching his undying affections from Rosaline to Juliet in a span of a day, Juliet desires Romeo’s beauty in an instant. When he speaks of Rosaline, he says, “She is rich in beauty” (I, i, 25) feeling only lust for her, and not true love. Then, when he first comes across Juliet, he only compliments her looks, saying, “O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!”(I, v, 53). He sees nothing of her character, and can only adulate her physique. He further illustrates that his love is superficial and lacks all meaning when he speaks about Rosaline, saying, “She hath forsworn to love, and in that vow do I live death, thus live to tell it now”…
