The actors of the movie played their parts very well. Gary Sinise takes on the role of George Milton, a drifter and ranch hand who takes care of his traveling companion, Lennie Small. Lennie is a strong, friendly, but mentally challenged fellow played by John Malkovich. Other characters from the book in the film are Curley, a brash, mean boxer who is the ranch owner’s son, and Mae, Curley’s unfaithful wife. Crooks, described as a “negro stable buck,” has a crippled back and is treated realistically for the time period. Candy, is an old swamper who befriends the two men, and Slim is a wise and friendly leader. All these actors played their roles exceptionally well, but there were a few flaws. Candy should have been less talkative and more gruff. I thought Lennie would be bigger and stronger looking, but all in all, the acting for Lennie was very good. …show more content…
