Being a TCU horned frog feels right for many reasons. TCU affords me the opportunity to move away from my hometown, Waco, it allows me to select from any of the majors I've considered; it provides me all of the resources I need to learn and excel; and it means I get to cheer on one of the best football teams in the nation, all while being in a faith-growing environment. I found, during my campus tour, the aspect I was most impressed by was the TCU spirit. Every student my tour group encountered wore a prideful smile, excitedly greeting their peers and every now and then one would yell a “Go frogs!”.…

Edward Hoagland is an animal lover at heart, saying that he has owned “dogs, cats, turtles, snakes, alligators, pigeons, possums, goats” while he was in his home state of Connecticut (Stuttering Foundation). He writes about animals and their conservations often. He has many works, 60 years’ worth, of conservation of animals fueled by this relentless desire to write for animals who cannot write for themselves (Stuttering Foundation). An example of these animals that need a voice are turtles. Turtles are a less familiar species that are easily overlooked by humans.…

The main problem that generates extinction is human activity; people cause extinction every day and unknowingly to them, it is killing innocent animals. Due to pollution, natural forces, human interaction, and loss of habitats, animal extinction is a major crisis in the world; people are the only ones that can save the animal population before it is too late. Pollution is among the most insidious threats to animal extinction. It can be as obvious as sewage and oil spills in water or as invisible as chemicals used every day.…
