Comparison Of Blackfish And Jurassic World

After viewing the two movies Blackfish and Jurassic World, one can see the numerous similarities and differences between the two. The main arguments that could made comparing these two films are based on animals in captivity and nature versus humans. The large contrasting points are based on what kind of animals are being talked about, whether they are land or water and deadly or not deadly. Animals in captivity are known for living a much shorter lifetime, for they are not in their “true environment”. This can be seen in Blackfish when the workers are caught spreading false information that the killer whales live longer in captivity, around 30 years, when in reality, in the wild where they can live up to a 100 year. The overall power and unpredictability of nature is also a concept that humans today still have not totally grasped. This blurred line is showed clearly in both Blackfish and Jurassic World. The killer whales at SeaWorld, on many occasions, threatened and killed many trainers over the years, and proved that even animals born into captivity will always have wild instincts. No matter how much training, lack of communication with the creatures limits the capability of controlling a 100% of their actions. This is also seen with Indominus Rex when the workers and creators had no power over the animal and did not even know the true powers of the animal. Overall, nature will always outsmart the development of humans, and is just “renting” its land and creatures for us, having the ability to release its true power at any point. In contrast, the main animals in the movies differed from each other. Blackfish focused mainly on it’s killer whales. These are sea animals which are much different than the land dinosaurs in Jurassic
