Challenges help you earn Respect We don't grow when things get easier; we grow when we face challenges. The stories “Amigo Brothers”by Piri Thomas and “The Last Spin” Evan Hunter are similar to each other because two characters face challenges that they have to accept. The movie “Creed” direct from Ryan Coogler is similar to the stories because the character Adonis is facing challenges when he was little and still face challenge thought the movie, but at the end it shows that he got respect for others and himself. All of these come down to one thesis that is facing challenges earn respect, even from unlikely individuals.
To begin with, one story that shows the theme is “Amigo Brother”by Piri Thomas, it's a story about two best friends that were told that they had to compete each other, they both accept the challenge and they agreed to go in separate ways till the match but at the end both friends made an unexpected move. At the end of the match “The announcers turn to point to the winner and found himself alone. Arm in arm, the two champions had already left the ring. (Thomas 163)” Toward the end of the story, it shows how both amigos show respect by leaving the ring, and not knowing who won because

At the very end of the story Tigo says “ screw the clubs! Tigo said. Can’t we pick our own… the word was hard coming. When it comes, his eyes did not leave Danny’s face… friends?” (Hunter 7) At the end of the story, the two different gang member shows respect towards each other and then became friends and did not care about the other gang member.
