The author goes about the task of giving us some of Shakespeare’s history before examining his writing style. He was born into a family in which his father’s work with the local government gave him access to the local free grammar school. Years later, he would marry Anne Hathaway and have three children. His writing gained him some prominence in the writing community. His main work was with the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, a prominent acting company. He was also part shareholder in the company with afforded his family a standard of living that would not have been possible as just a writer.
