Comparison: Movie Analysis

Improved Essays
In the movie there are some similarities. The first one I noticed was that Sarah didn’t believe that John Smith was his real name. I think she didn’t believe him because it is such a common name. Another one is Bernie Kosar follows John everywhere. If John is going to school or running in the woods Bernie is always there. When Henri was telling John that they had to leave, John just held him in the air until he agreed to let them stay so he could say bye to Sarah. Also both in the book and the movie Henri goes to Athens and John and Sam follow him to make sure everything is fine and that the mogadorians didn’t find them. Lastly, number six finds John in the school lust like in the book and that Bernie turns into a chimera at the school.

They start out as enemies and end up as friends with the help of the villagers. Cliché as it sounds Welcome to Dongmakgol is a breath of fresh air, it is a present filled with humor, friendship, innocence and wrapped and tied up with a ribbon of sadness.…

To the Chariot race portrayed by Charlton Heston in Ben-Hur, to the famous World War II speech by George C. Scott in Patton, these movies were iconic at the time and portrayed real life events in history. Never in U.S cinema history had there been a parody of historical events, until the ingenious director named Mel Brooks made a movie called History of the World Part I. Brilliant, clever, and creative, Mel Brooks took the chapters of mankind's darkest history, and made the specific events into a comic relief for the audience to enjoy. Some may not enjoy the content of the movie due to the insensitivity of religion in the motion…

One may find it hard to find a direct relationship between films and nations, and their roles in an increasingly transnational world. In order to understand the relationship between film and nation, there needs to be an understanding of tradition as well as modernity. Throughout history, one could argue that nations could be defined easily by the films that were made there, and produced by people from there as well. In modern day society, however, this is not the case. A single film cannot categorize a nation, nor can itself be categorized as a film of a certain nation.…
