James decided to attend an all-white private school. He won the Gatorade National Player of the year in his sophomore, junior and senior year. His senior year he was also named Ohio’s Mr. Basketball. After his senior year he declared for the NBA draft and was the first pick in the 2003 NBA draft (famouspeople.com). Messi started playing soccer at the age of five for a hometown club in Argentina. When he was eight years old, he moved to another club which was immensely talented. But, at the age of eleven he was diagnosed with a hormone deficiency which altered his playing time. It was at this time when FC Barcelona’s sporting director decided to pay for Messi’s treatment only if he attended Barcelona’s youth academy. It was there he quickly moved up the ranks to make his move into the Liga BBV where he made his debut (famouspeople.com).
