In this story different point of view or otherwise known as different perspectives between the two main characters fueled the conflict. The mother thinks that she should go to costa rica and leave her daughter and her grandma’s house so that she can get a good experience and that she can complete her degree and get a decent job. But, on the other hand the daughter thinks differently, she had plans to make friends over the summer and enjoy, but not spend time with distant relatives. For example, paragraphs 33 and 34 show us how the mother’s and daughter’s relationship is deteriorating and a conflict is created, because of different perspective on what should happen next. All in all, I believe that in the two stories "Tortilla sun" by Jennifer Cervantes and "Confetti Girl" the characters’ different perspectives on something add tension to the already deteriorating relationship between the main characters which adds tension to the
