Compare And Contrast Soccer And Soccer

In my compare-contrast essay I would like to compare two probably the most popular sports in the world: tennis and soccer. Everyone is familiar with the rules and main point of these games, but not everyone knows what it takes to be a professional player. So that’s why I would like to compare physical and mental parts of these sports, qualities the players must to have to be competitive, the level of pressure that that they feel before starting the game, and the importance of having a team or people that support you.
First, I would like to describe the skills of the tennis players as being a professional tennis player myself, I can say a lot from my own experience. Tennis is the sport where players have to use all their skills to compete.

In soccer the physical part is the most important. Soccer players have to develop resistance, because they have to endure ninety minutes running on the field. The size of the soccer field is equal to the size of thirty one-tennis courts. Soccer players run about 6-8 miles in one match what is pretty much similar to the tennis players, even though the tennis court is a lot smaller than soccer field. The second thing is that they have to work on is their speed, because there are 22 players on the court and the players have to be faster than their rivals to grab the ball, or to take advantage. One of the biggest physical differences between tennis players and soccer players is that soccer players do not have to work that much on their upper body muscles as tennis players, because all power has be in their legs to be able to run fast for a long time, and kick the ball …show more content…
But anyways, mental part greatly affects the performance of each player. Beyond the personal performance, the most difficult part in soccer is to make eleven players to have the same objective and carrying out their work in the best possible way. It doesn’t matter if you have bad days, personal problems or problems with someone from the team, players have to make sure to leave it outside the field. Being on the field with your teammates can be easy and difficult at the same time. Because your partner can support you and raise the spirits of the entire team, but at the same time he/she can also affect your performance with her/his bad attitude and make the entire team go down. For this reason, the captain plays a very important role in the soccer team, because he/she is the manager of transmitting and raising the fortitude of the whole team. Another factor that affects the soccer players is the public. This can either help or hurt the team performance, no matter if it is a public in favor or against the team. On the one hand when the team is loosing and has a public support, the esteem of the players rises. On the other hand when the team is loosing and the public is insulting them, their esteem drops even more. Also the time in the soccer game put a lot of pressure on the players and can affect their performance. To conclude I would
