Under these conditions, it becomes very apparent how important it is to understand the correct way to bat in order to increase one’s chances of actually hitting the ball. The first most important part of batting is how you grip the bat. When you approach the bat, grab it as if you’re

This will reduce the number of injuries caused by dwindling reaction times. The decreased reaction time can be especially dangerous for pitchers who are the closest to the batter. On the other hand, it could also be argued that the performance increase can’t be too drastic since we have continued to use these bats for 12 years without noticing this defect. But I believe the performance increase may not have been as drastic before people noticed its presence and began to exploit…

Although when it comes to stealing bases in baseball the runner is allowed to steal whenever the ball is live (which is most of the time). In softball you are only allowed to steal once the pitcher releases the ball out of their hand, but the runner is not allowed to leave the base if the pitcher has the ball in the pitching circle. Another major difference between baseball and softball is the how the ball is thrown to the batter. In softball the ball is pitched underhanded and can be fast as it is in fast-pitch softball or slow like in slow-pitch softball. In baseball the ball is usually pitched overhanded in really fast…

Inertia has an enormous effect on baseball many ways. Depending on how much inertia a player may have, it may be easier to run to each base than other people with heavier inertia. The lighter a player may be, he will usually have lighter inertia and therefore can do great against people with a heavier inertia when running to a plate and activities such as that. Newton's 2nd law, the Law of Acceleration also has a gigantic effect on baseball. In softball, professionals use 11 inch softballs that are around 2 inches wider than a baseball. Because of the larger size this also means the softball is thus heavier than a baseball. Along with this, the average professional softball pitching speed is around 72 mph, which is 20 mph slower than baseball pitching. With this information in mind, some may think that because of the larger ball size and slower pitching it is less challenging to hit a softball compared to a baseball. Again, this is a common misunderstanding when comparing softball and baseball.…
