For example, although you can tell that the American wants Jig to have an abortion, the American never mentions the word “abortion”, implying that the have a hard time communicating. They simply hint what they want to say to each other rather than just state what they want. Also, you can tell that they argue a lot since in the beginning of the story they started arguing about minimal things such as when Jig said that the beer tasted like liquorice to then discussing whether or not she should go through with the operation. Their communication is terrible since the American is mostly the only one who is taking over the conversation and Jig is the one that is trying to say no to the operation but the American is there constantly trying to convince her to agree with it by making promises and eventually becomes a bit assertive at one…

If one was to be trapped on Ship-Trap Island, the chances of he or she making it out of the island alive are slim to none. Whether you are reading the story or watching the movie this fact reigns true in both. The Most Dangerous Game is a short story that was written in 1924 by Richard Connell. The story was later adapted into a movie with the same title in 1932. Taking place in Virginia in 1971, the film shows the racial tension of the community using techniques to make it cinematic. The present text explores the relationship between cohesion and team sports, specifically as demonstrated in the movie Remember the Titans (2000). Cohesion can be described as either task cohesion, in which the individual is interested in fulfilling the goals of the team, or social cohesion in which interpersonal relationships are made within a group. “If you continue to ignore each other we’ll go to four-a-day practice.” Coach Boone says to the team as he wants them to come together as a team and overcome their hatred towards each other. A mid-shot is focused on Coach Boone as he speaks, this shows his leadership, as for the camera angle of the Titans, they are shown in a long shot and the camera switches to each different table and displays the team’s upset and irritated faces. Another example of overcoming challenges is when Coach Boone takes the Titans to the Gettysburg war sight. He uses a historical allusion to reflect on the worlds past events and refers to the world they are in today.…

Boone exhibited an autocratic, transactional leadership style, ruling by fear and consequences with the players and coach Yoast. Boone set the tone by showing his legitimate authority and control in an attempt to create structure and order, for example, on the buses traveling to pre-season boot camp, Boone forced integration of the players based on offensive and defensive roles rather than race. Additionally, Boone asserted his dominance over coach Yoast at the outset, leaving no doubt who was the head…
