The purpose of this essay is to compare and contrast the major decision a high school graduate must make after graduating high school is whether to attend a university or a local community college. A university offer a more diverse academic offering while a Community college is very technical and industry driven. Although universities and community colleges serve the same educational purposes, the have different approaches in certain areas. Here are some different approaches one can compare contrast a community college to a university; admission requirements, environments and the conveniences are some that are always compared and contrasted.
The admission requirement is game changer to many student when one is deciding to stay at home in study at a community college or go away to study in a university. Typically a university will have higher admission requirements because student tend have the opportunity to obtain a higher degree than at a community college. Many student are forced to attend to community college because the requirements are usually lower. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if you wish to attend either or but

A community college on the other side consist of being smaller in campus size and number of student enrollment. An advantage community college can offer to its students is the professor to student ratio since they don’t have as many student like in a university. At a university however, the student can be placed in a classroom with professor that are better knowledge able of the area of expertise since universities most of the time recruit experts to teach in their respective department. A university will offer more extracurricular activities such as Greek life athletics and clubs when contrasting to a community college. So as one can read the environment is definitely different between a university and a community
