College basketball vs. pro basketball It is surprising that college basketball teams do not even play half as much as pro basketball teams in one season. In a regular season, NCAA basketball teams play about 30 games, compared to the pros that play 82 games a season. Although they get to play this many games, they still sometimes get play in playoff games and championship games at the end of the season. In college, they have an end of the season tournament to get to the final four in a one elimination bracket. In the pros however, they handle it a little bit different.
