The Color Purple and Precious are film about women survival. They both offer hope and show how women are empowered through education and other women. Claireece Precious Jones was abused, poor, a teen mom, and had a very negative view on her physical appearance. She was moved to an intermediate school where she met her teacher Ms. Rain. Ms. Rain got her out of her abusive home and started pushing her in school. Claireece began feeling more confident, discovered how smart she was, and began pushing herself more.
