Two months ago I went two see a play called Romeo and Juliet. It was a romantic play filed with lots of love and hate amongst two different families. The play took placed at a modern time more like in today’s society, but with the language of Shakespeare. It was very unique with lots of modern fashion which I really liked and the club scenes was very nice but was also un- expecting in some cases for instance, there was a scene a club scene with people dancing and smoking weed. My set was not far from the main stage therefore; I could smell the weed. The main actors and actress was very unique because, it was my first time seeing an African American women portraying Juliet her mother was Caucasian and her father was also African American. Her family was very rich and powerful unlike Romeos character who was very down to earth and was not as rich as Juliet he was sort of middle class. Because he was of lower standard he was look down by Juliet family and also because both of the families did not get along very well, which cause some strife amongst Romeo and Juliet. …show more content…
For an example, there was a scene when Romeo and Juliet just got married they performed the honeymoon scene. The way Juliet wakes up from bed she begins to do the spin stretch forwards exercise which was quite unique. Another example, is when she is excited to see Romeo she leaps of a table with her legs stretch really straight and her feet are pointed like a ballerina. When she leaps she lands in a perfect position on Romeo. Her posture was very straight unlike the character of Romeo who posture was very laid
