There are many similar things in the plays "West Side Story" and "Romeo and Juliet". "West Side Story" should be considered Shakespeare because of two main things love, and family problems. "West Side Story" was based on "Romeo and Juliet" and inspired by William Shakespeare, so they wanted it to sound somewhat the same as Romeo and Juliet so it should be considered Shakespeare. The characters in these plays are Romeo and Juliet and Maria and Tony, they love each other a lot. Maria and Tony from "West Side Story" and Romeo and Juliet from "Romeo and Juliet" both show each other how much they love each other.
