Comparing Violence In Girl With The Dragon Tattoo And The Celebration

People’s violence tends to be toward weaker people. The weak of society and violence cannot be separated. They coexist because the perpetrator think the violence is the easiest tool to control the weak. Weak people are often lack of protection or education or violence defeat the volition to resist. Violence starts when a group or individual of perpetrator trample the victims because they are just weaker than them. The perpetrator use the weak point of victim such as will of keeping family or supports from the sponsor. The representation of violence showed clearly in two films The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Celebration. Lisbeth and Harriot are the weak in the society compare to them. Lisbeth is a woman, lesbian, and outsider. She has an abhorrence for abuse of women since she was abused by her father in her childhood. She receives support money from her supporter, but after the supporter’s death, the supporter’s lawyer menaces Lisbeth with support money and rapes her. The lawyer, who usually has power and strong social position, uses his power to subdue Lisbeth. The relationship of Lisbeth’s act of violence to the social world of the lawyer is very direct and obvious. The lawyer physically harms the Lisbeth and feels a perverse pleasure when she seems to submitted. She does the same thing when she takes vengeance on the lawyer. She records her rape scene and threatens the lawyer how this record harm his social position and reputation which are he most scared.
