Both of Vietnam War and Korean War took place during the Cold War. The Korean War was happened in 1950-1953 right after the Cold War while the intention still higher from the World War 2. The Vietnam War was occurred in 1960s - 1970s when United States and Soviet Union contended for hegemony. These two wars was internal fight, the country divided into two sides, the southern democracy versus northern communism. The war was determining the country should be communism or democracy. Superpower confrontation expanded to global from Europe battle, it was a national contest that supported by the United States and the Soviet union. These two wars involved foreign intervention, which is other countries provided assistance and support on the military and supplies. In certain ways, the Vietnam War and Korean War have several similarities and differences.
