Once upon a time in a far away land there lived a noble king and queen, dubbed Verudo and Annabelle. For many years they ruled over the valley of their kingdom, protecting the people from the dangers of the world. However, the queen Annabelle was slain by an evil bandit. Verudo was enraged, and consequently he searched the land that night for something to end his spite and misery. In his search he reached a deep and dank forest, inside which was the home for an evil witch.
