Senior Research Paper In life you’re faced with all kinds of decisions that could change your life for good. Going out of high school to college is a decision that could change your life forever. You want to go a college that is going to prepare you for the professional world and the university that is going to fit you best. Which university is going to make you the best adult you can be. I am comparing Vanderbilt University and Oklahoma State University. Some of the things that can persuade my decision on which University to go to are the Academics and also the student life while on campus. Oklahoma States diversity of the student body is 71.7% white, 6.9% have two or more races, 6% are American Indian or Alaskan Native, 4.9% African American, 4.7% Latino, 3% Non Resident, 1.5% Asian, 1.2% Are Unknown. The male female ratio is almost split equal, 50.8% are male and 49.2% are female. These are some of the diverse races of Oklahoma State. Now Vanderbilt is slight different. They have 60.3% are white, 8.4% Asian, 8% African American, 7.9% Latino, 5.9% Non Resident, 4.9% are two or more races, 4.2% is the unknown. The male to female ratio at Vanderbilt is 50.2% are male while 49.8% are female. These are the diverse races that separate these two colleges. Another main thing that determines the choice of which college out if the two, are degrees and majors. Vanderbilt has a special set of majors such as college of arts and science, followed by Blair School of Music and also a big school of Medicine. Vanderbilt is ranked 1st in the nation in the Audiology program. Oklahoma State also has their fair of majors such as Business and I believe their most known for is their vet nary major. The reason for that is to maybe get some money taken care of with scholarship money. Vanderbilt out numbers Oklahoma State in the cost of tuition especially out of state tuition. Vanderbilt’s out of state tuition is way more just because of the college being private the tuition flies through the roof. Oklahoma States out of state tuition is almost just as much but Vanderbilt being a private school it surpasses Oklahoma State. In state tuition gets pretty interesting at Oklahoma State because of Oklahoma promise which pays for 5 years of tuition if your guardian doesn’t make of
