Comparing Two Poems

By analyzing Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and G-Eazy’s “Me, Myself & I”, one can see many of the same messages being portrayed recurrently in both of the songs. Some of the conceptions throughout both of the these songs generate the same meaning however, they are often portrayed differently. Some of these differences can be the choices of the words the poet's decide to use or more importantly, the literary devices they decided to use throughout the song. Poem A shows the compassion and compromises one must take in order for them to get an opportunity and whilst given that chance, they must not let it go and instead, succeed and feel the forthcoming jubilation once they do so. Also, Eminem, the author of Poem A, raps about how he was not always under strict restraint growing up and how others must not let bad choices in the present, …show more content…
“He's so sad that he knows… back to the lab again yo” (Line 23-24), shows that the disparities of fear he once had and proves the no matter what happens, he is going to go back to his notepad, described here as the lab, and write his poems until he thinks it is good enough to win over the tough crowd. Additionally, the theme of determination is being impressively denoted in the lines “Tear this motherfuckin' roof off like two dogs caged I was playin' in the beginnin', the mood all changed” (Line 52-55), as the poet describes how he is about to change all the angry and frustrated judgements in which he is in a state where he can not get anything done “Tear this motherfuckin' roof off like two dogs caged” into a stable mindset, “I'm a change what you call rage”, where he can get work done and succeed.Continued analysis of the poem leads the reader to see another widely used literary term and it is called rhyme. The rhyming pattern in any Eminem song is a difficult one to catch and understand and
