A photo of the Kukulkan pyramid has caused a heated discussion all around the world since 2009, because of this picture, a bright beam of light was noticed to come out from the cap stone. This article will list two possible speculations and figure out a better explanation for the observation by analyzing and comparing evidences.
According to this amazing photo, the original hypothesis is that the light beam in the Mayan temple photo is actually released from the top stone of the pyramid. There are some evidences to prove it. First, since this picture was taken with an iPhone, it is proved that the GPS coordinates are the same as the Hernadez family’s location. Meanwhile, meta data downloaded from the picture also demonstrates the time(Educating Humanity 2012). Second, during an interview in 2012, the family can still …show more content…
It is shown that most mobile phones’ cameras cannot enhance the photo quality in the noticeable light spectrum as well as digital cameras do(Educating Humanity 2012). Meanwhile, only the third picture taken by the family had the light beam, which exactly has a lightning in the background. It increases the percentage of possibility of the equipment failure that the lightning flash leads to the problems of ‘camera’s CCD sensor’ and excessive light is added to the image(Michael 2012). At the same time, nobody present actually saw the light beam at that moment(Michael 2012). This confirms from another side that the beam of light is caused by an iPhone glitch. However, it is hard to check whether it is because of the iPhone camera problem or not. Since instrument errors do not happen very often even when lightning occurs. What’s more, there is no access to interview the people present at that time. Nonetheless, there have been sufficient proof of the appearance of the strange light
