Parenting is one of the most challenging and difficult responsibilities a person can face. The question that is being asked a lot today is, are older parents better than younger parents. And I believe that yes, older parents are better than younger parents at raising children. This is best exemplified with experience, psychological strength, and financial security. In a world like today, with all the technological advancements, young partners are addicted to their phones, computers, and television screens, leading to less attention for the children. Being financially stable will help parents meet basic needs such as housing, food, and clothing. Families will also be able to take advantage of opportunities and lead a life full of good fortune. In the past, many parents read the Forbes magazine article for financial tips. Luisa Kroll a writer and researcher said, “Baby bottles, dirty diapers, midnight feedings, piles of laundry, all the new gear–from car seats to cribs–and a stack of bills to pay for it all. Having a child changes everything” (Kroll, 2004). Parents have to be financially stable to cover basic needs and wants. From the day a child is born and until the age of 18, parents spend over two hundred thousand dollars on them. Older parents who have already gone through these life stages and have a secure job and have also saved for their kids, will not have a hard time covering the costs for their kids and family. On the other hand, young parents would still be looking for a job and might still be paying off student loans and other debts which will make it hard to spend on kids.
