In order for Macbeth to stay king, no one could know about him murdering the king. Soon he became paranoid that his dearest friend banquo had known that it was Macbeth that killed the King. So Macbeth thought that before Banquo could even speak about his suspicions, that it would be best to have him killed. In Whitewater Jim McDougal, a real estate entrepreneur, was an old friend of Bill's and cut the Clintons into a deal where they wouldn't pay any upfront investment but could still stand to profit from the home sales.
