Immediately, the similarity I noticed is the house having emotions. One example In The Veldt, (Bradbury, p. 135) is when Bradbury says "I wonder if it [the house] hates me for wanting to switch it off" and in There Will Come Soft Rains, the opening talks about the voice of the house being "afraid that nobody would" wake up (Bradbury, p. 1). Both of these are instances that the house, an inanimate object, was given the capacity to process thoughts or feelings. However, there were also several different instances in which the house was also given the ability to control. In The Veldt, the house had the ability to tie shoes, brush teeth, and bath the children as well as the ability to fry eggs and clean the house (Bradbury, p. 128). All of these
