Another example is when Margo and Quentin are in the Suntrust building, she refers to Orlando as a 'paper town' because it’s flimsy and planned. From above, Orlando looks very much like a city that someone built out of origami. Margo considers herself as a paper girl, that's why she left Orlando for a paper town, Agloe. In The Truman show, Truman overcomes his biggest barrier, Christof, by creating a plan to escape Seahaven and sail off. He escapes being under Christof's control his whole life and finally living with freedom. Christof has literally created everything for Truman, his town, his wife, his home, his friends and even his fears. This shows that Christof is capable of anything within Seahaven. Another example is when Truman tries to escape Seahaven and Christof places physical barriers that prevent him from leaving. He created the fire, nuclear power plant 'explosion', purposely put out no flights to Fiji for a few months, and Meryl and Marlyn discourage Truman from travelling. The final example is that Truman needs to overcome the obstacle of his fear of water. Christof has created this fear when Truman and his father were out sailing and his father falls off the boat and drowns to death. Travelling over the water is the only way out of Seahaven for Truman. In the final scene when Truman is sailing away in the Santa Maria, this shows that he is able to go beyond Christof's
