Comparing The Three Levels Of Health Care And Prevention

There are three levels of healthcare and prevention that are widely known. These levels are referred to as primary, secondary, and tertiary health care. Primary healthcare is the first level of contact the patient encounters within the healthcare care system. Such professionals would usually be a primary care physician, a nurse practitioner or physician assistant. The essentials of healthcare is provided at this level such as annual physicals, well checks, and immunizations. (Primary, secondary and tertiary prevention, 2013) Also, the majority of health problems can be managed at this level. The next level which is known as secondary healthcare deals with more complex problems. This is often the first referral level. Some examples of these
