Before Meg's father left she was happy and excelled in school. However, when Meg's father left her, Meg's school grades dropped. This scene displays how Meg was affected when her father vanished because her sadness meant that her dad was very important to her and was a big part of her life. Another part of movie that showed importance of family was when in the movie the teachers were saying rude things about Meg and Charles Wallace.Charles Wallace overheard and immediately talks back and defends his sister Meg. This scene showed how Charles Wallace cared for Meg and wasn't embarrassed to defend her. The importance of family is also used when Calvin realizes how lucky Meg is because she has a family that actually cares for her while he doesn't. The relationship between Calvin and Meg was shown to be stronger than expected when nearing the end of chapter 13 when Calvin kisses Meg when saying her goodbyes before she returned to Camazotz alone. As said on page 97, “Calvin came to her and took her hand, then drew her to him and kissed her. He didn’t say anything, and he turned away before he had a chance to see the surprised happiness that brightened her eyes.” There was also a moment of foreshadowing in the beginning of this book when Meg talks to Calvin about her feeling with her dad gone and he complimented her eyes in a way that seemed a bit more than friendly. These details were not included in the movie as Meg and Calvin hugged near the end of the movie, but no more, as he left to his house.…

The absence of his father becomes a theme that brings up an emotional toll between the protagonist and his mother. Being that his father was with another woman and not with his mother allowed for him to feel anger towards him simply despising him. As the protagonist enters his apartment building he states "waiting for my heart to slow, for the pain to lose its edge" (101). The amount he has suffered when his father left and the fact that he wants to come back begging for money was something he disapproved of. The phone call symbolizes pain within the mother since she continues to call him in hopes he will return…

In A Wrinkle in Time, the initial setting is small New England Town, with Meg Murry’s safe, loving home, and boring rural high school. The book starts with the reader gets introduced to Meg, Murry and her family and gets to know their situation and her problems. In A Wrinkle in Time, Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin oppose the forces of darkness to save both Meg and Charles’s father and the world as we know it.…

Again, the viewer chose the theme “Power of Tradition” to match the story and movie. The theme matches well to both the story and movie because as the viewer could see, both stories were showing how tradition can make us do things, and we think it’s OK to do them. But when we follow tradition, we do things as in killing,or persecute, things we care about. The viewer thought the movie was better because the movie showed more emotion and it was easier to tell what was going on. Apparently, the movie was able to be seen visually, so that helps with understanding what is going on too.…

There is another main theme throughout the novel, good vs. evil. This can mostly be seen through the actions of the characters. For example, one of our first views of Dumbledore is that he is a noble wizard because of a conversation in the first chapter about him being too noble to use dark powers that he could obtain. Throughout the entire story he is seen as a good character when he is helping Harry and his friends. Another good character is Harry himself.…
