Maria from "The Sound of Music" directed by Robert Wise and Naomi from "Going Where I'm Coming From" by Naomi Shihab Nye are both very brave and stand up for themselves and for others for what is right. While comparing Maria and Naomi, they both seem to be very well driven, have confidence, and they know what is morally right and wrong. The films Love Actually (2003) and Pirate Radio (2009) are both directed by Richard Curtis. Although both films are directed by Curtis, there are many differences between the two films that distinguish themselves from one another, such as directional style, the time period, and the plot. Love Actually follows the lives of eight couples during Christmastime in London, showing the audience that love can “actually” be found anywhere. Pirate Radio concentrates on a group of rock-n-roll DJs who defy Britain’s government and its ban on rock-n-roll music by playing rock-n-roll music on a ship outside of the British jurisdiction in the North Sea. Despite the drastic difference in their plots, both Love Actually and Pirate Radio do have similarities,…

Goodbye, Columbus and The Graduate are similar stories with similar themes; the difference is in how they are presented.
