He creates this by forming three key classes of citizens. First Commoners, these citizens are the blue collar farmers or crafts men they are the bronze. Second you have what Socrates calls the Auxiliaries these people are your military; they have a limited knowledge that can be later trained to be come what he calls the Guardians in other words the rulers. Socrates believed that this city would be ideal to the people as long as they follow the procedural justice. His view on procedural justice is when each group performs their job, and only that job, and each stay in their right place of power relative to the others. When the citizens follow the order that Socrates has implemented it provides the citizens with wealth by giving them a job. They also have the opportunity to gain knowledge so that they are able to becomes Guardians. He creates a story law where only certain stories can be told to the children in order to create a healthy state of “soul”. Socrates states that this education allows children to only be able to engage in good activities. Parents were not allowed to portray the Guardians in negative or fraudulent ways because then they would grow up not knowing what an actual truthful or honest person was. Not only do the parents not have an education but the children are raised with no hope to prosper. They do not have a sense of true honesty. They are deemed to make the same mistakes. Socrates forms a structure that is a never ending cycle. There is nothing worse than having the president passing and the country breaks down because we don’t have anyone knowledgeable to do his job and to keep the country afloat.
