I read two books this nine weeks, The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. I chose to make my presentation about The 5th Wave because it is an easier book to understand and you don’t have to think too much while reading it. It is sequential book.
The protagonist of this story is a girl named Cassie Sullivan who has the basic teenager life, she goes to high school and has a huge crush on the jock of the school. The songs that I chose to represent her were “Bloody Shirt” and “I Will Follow you into The Dark”. I chose the first one because in this one part of the book she has to make an ethical decision on whether to trust someone or not. “Kidnapped” is because of her brother, Sammy, he was taken by the Others and Cassie’s mission is now to find him, while trying to stay alive. “Alone” is because Cassie is alone. Her parents died and Sammy was taken so she is just trying to stay alive.
“You can’t trust anyone nowadays” is because she couldn't trust anyone. That is why she killed the soldier, who was an innocent man. “Where are you now” she was still looking for sammy and at the same time she didn't know where she was. Being shot and then saved can have that effect on you. Evan took her back to his house and she was taken care of still cautious for the fact that she didn't know him.
Then I would talk about the theme, which I thought was live life to the fullest because you never know when something could happen that changes your plans. I chose “It’s the End Of The World As We Know It” and “Titanium” because the first one was about how something changed and it the end just like the book. Their lives ended and they probably wanted to do more before they passed. Second was because Cassie still remained strong. She found her brother and got the
