In order to save the "dying" city of Gotham from the criminal underworld, poverty, and corruption within the police department, Bruce returns to the root of all his misery as a changed man; the identity of Batman was established to prevent anyone else from experiencing the pain and suffering he had endured as a child while the normal Bruce Wayne returns to his "throne" at Wayne Enterprises in order to gain the funding needed for new technology such as the bat-mobile and upgrading the suit as well as using his influence to support individuals such as Harvey Dent who had gained the title of the "White Knight" due to being able to achieve justice during the day without a mask. Despite his vigilantly approach towards establishing law and order, Batman is able to maintain his sanity by acknowledging a specific honor code that prevents him from using deadly force or resorting to killing criminals such as the Joker despite his ruthless and unpredictable nature to harm others for his own enjoyment. What makes Batman an ideal hero is his heart and courage because he refuses to be thanked or acknowledged for his role in justice. As a result, Bruce Wayne actually tries to distant himself from the caped crusader by essentially hiding in pain site and acting like the cocky "Billionaire Playboy" who…

In Of Mice and Men, George, the small man, had choices to let Lennie, the fat emotionally handicapped man run away and let him live, or to shoot Lennie himself for both of their sakes. George was responsible for Lennie after his Aunt Clara died. The wife of Curley, the welterweight champion and the boss’s son, was offering Lennie to let him feel her hair, and Lennie likes feeling soft things because it makes him feel comfortable. Curley’s wife let out a scream because Lennie was messing up her hair and he started crazily shaking her around and killed her, not knowing his own strength. He ran away to where George told him to, and when George found Curley’s wife dead, he knew that it was Lennie.…

In of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, a main character named Lennie is put in a situation where he kills Curley’s wife (Curly is the son of their boss). Lennie should not be held accountable for the death of Curley’s wife because he is child-like. One way Lennie is child-like is through his misunderstanding of what is normal in society. For example, Lennie does not understand that it is not ok for someone to pet a woman’s dress.…

Even though it can be easy to wish for a vigilante to save society from itself, even Batman in The Dark Knight, realizes his own darkness, and ability to be corrupted. Harvey Dent said, "“You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” At the end of the previous movie Batman Begins Batman says, "As a man, I'm flesh and blood, I can be ignored, I can be destroyed; but as a symbol... as a symbol I can be incorruptible, I can be everlasting."
