When we think you knowing something we tend to think of what we believe in. It could be something as small as a mathematical equation or something as big as knowing whether or not God exist. Either way everyone has a belief that turns into knowledge. There are a number of ways to be justified in believing each belief that we have, but the question of whether it is the truth arises. We could think about some different readings like The Matrix, The Republic, and Meditation evolving whether or not knowing the truth is reliable or just a dream. While some differences between The Matrix, The Republic, and Meditation are noticeable, the similarities are striking.

When I think of the truth I often refer to the saying “The truth shall set you free.” When I think of this saying I think about how the prisoner was happier once he has found out the truth. One the other hand I could see where Cypher would want to just forget everything and go back to living his normal life. I also see a few problems with forgetting the truth behind the Matrix. If Cypher would forget he would be living a life of illusion with no reality. I think I would want to know the truth behind life even if it would be sad. When Neo had found out the truth he had trouble, but accepted and teamed up with Morpheus to discover the truth about the Matrix. I think that if I had been Neo I would also be said, but have a relief also knowing the truth. Even if the truth may be sad or hurtful I would feel better knowing and also I would know why something did not feel right in the beginning like Neo had stated. I do not think that “ignorance is bliss” because you would be living a life no worth living. I person should search for the truth and with that search there may be some heart breaks along the way, but in the end maybe a sign of relief and a search for a possible fix to the problem. I think that the saying “The truth shall set you free” goes a long way towards not only telling the truth, but also knowing the
