Have you ever done something that affected you and the people around you? Thinking about the outcomes of your actions before doing them is important because they could affect you and the people around you.

As you notice there are some unordinary words in both these poems. In the Lorax, Dr. Seuss uses words such as, cruffulous, smogulous, and smeary. As you can see all of those words are negative words describing the “forest” he used to live in which is now a smokey factory for sneeds to be manufactured. In the Jabberwocky, Lewis Carroll uses words such as mimsy, gyre and gimble, and slithy to get the point over that the Jabberwocky is a scary creature that is feared by many people. In both stories the authors use unique words to get the point over that the creature or villain in the story is unwelcoming and Maleficent.

In the Lorax, the problem was that the Once´ Ler kept cutting down trees that were homes to many animals and creatures. The lesson of this story is that your actions could affect not just you but the whole community. In the story the Jabberwocky, The problem is that this gigantic creature lurks in the woods is trying to kill the animals. The lesson in this story is that if there is a bully killing/picking on kids/animals you should take them out. To wrap it up, The lessons in these stories differ but both get across very important life lessons.

In conclusion, Thinking about the outcomes of your actions before doing them is important because they could affect you and the people around you. I felt that both of these stories taught an important life lesson that we can use in the real world. If I had to read one of these stories again I would choose the Lorax, because I think it is a cute story. The Jabberwocky confused me and didn’t interest me at all. Overall, life lessons are found everywhere it's just how you perceive

After watching some gameplay videos for the new ps4 game Until Dawn, I was reminded of a strange term I had once heard, the butterfly effect. Upon seeing this, I decided to do some research to find out more about it. The Chaos theory more commonly called the butterfly effect summarized by Edward Lorenz is a branch of mathematics that deals with complex systems whose behaviour is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences. With this, I thought a many life decisions that I had made, both large and small and thought of how they affected my life and how different my life would be if I had chosen to take another path. I am a Christian and with further thought, came to…

Being put in a situation that has a negative outcome no matter what an individual does can be relatively difficult. The reason for this is because that person will typically have to make an important and tough decision. The way one decides what to do demonstrates his or her personality and character. If the decision the person makes benefits themself, but negatively impacts the other person, it can be assumed that they’re uncivil and essentially self-centered. However, if the individual makes the choice that would benefit another person but doesn’t benefit themself, it can be concluded that they are caring and altruistic.…

“Life always offers you a second chance. It's called tomorrow” - Unknown . An important lesson to learn in life is that there aren’t bad people, only bad decisions. We learn this by knowing people can change, you learn from mistakes, without forgiveness, one cannot move forward, and letting go of anger is the key to happiness. In the book Touching Spirit Bear and Holes, and the short story “Wings”, Cole, a boy who gets sent to a remote island in Alaska because he assaulted someone at his school, Stanley, a boy who was sent to Camp Green Lake because he stole very valuable shoes, and Icarus, a boy who failed to listen to his dad and because of that died all learned these lessons from many people and experience…

Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail” was written in a crucial time during the Civil Rights Movement. During this time period, the nation had just ended the war and added the 13th amendment to the constitution, which made slavery illegal. Consequently, following the civil war the south went under “reconstruction”, a period in time where the federal government aided in rebuilding the southern states. Once President Hayes was elected federal troops were pulled out of the south, nevertheless supremacists began to enforce segregation and limited African Americans from voting. Dr. King had been a leader in the Civil Rights Movement in advocating desegregation across the country for nearly ten years, then marked a turning point, the Birmingham campaign of 1963.…

One the most significant things that I learned in introduction to human services this semester was that everyone experiences situations differently, what might be something unimportant and minor to you might be a trigger for someone else. You should always be mindful of others, I think us as human beings we tend to be a bit selfish and like to think that the world revolves around us. Which, is ridiculous because the world has 7.3 billion people and counting, and what makes me more significant than all those other people? Sometimes I’ll go out to the store in a hurry and I’ll get a line with a cashier that is being extremely slow, and I get upset and start thinking of some nasty things about the cashier, without ever taking into consideration what that person might be going through.…

Poetry – Critical Essay Relationships between two people can be one of the most dangerous but important human experiences in life. Poets explore relationships using their own developed ideas and styles. Michelle Williams in ‘Friendless’ conveys the abusive power of a man which conflicts with the utterly depressing relationship between a dying mother and son in ‘Mother in a Refugee’. Likewise to ‘Friendless’, ‘The Child Who Walks Backwards’ by Lorna Crozier is also about abuse and physical power. All the poets express their visions through the different ideas, circumstances and situations.…

Should fairy tales be read to children? This is a intriguing topic that is widely cogitated by people around the world, old and young. “The Case Against Fairytales” and “10 Reasons Why Kids need to Read Non-Disney Fairy Tales” by Arielle Schussler and Melissa Taylor respectively illustrate the negative and positive effects of fairy tales for children. Fairy tales, are they commendable, or pernicious? I argue that they are essential to a child’s everyday life, worthy of the praise that I think they deserve.…
