Gantt charts are a format used to represent progressive and dependency data that depends on the level of investment. A Gantt chart helps in planning tasks, documenting the order of completion and the time requirements for completion. It consists of horizontal bars to represent a task along a time line making it easy, visual and simple to comprehend. It has all the tasks displayed vertically on the left section of its outlay. Every task has a corresponding horizontal bar off to the right to represent time. The size of the horizontal bar depends upon the prospected time to be taken by an activity. Its placement position in the horizontal plane depends on initial day and the final day of the task.

Critical path method (CPM) tool is a modification of project planning and scheduling (PPS) which was used in construction undertakings that required accurate and efficient cost and time estimates. It was popularly used in construction industries. It is usually a chart that shows the main critical path of milestones. Large companies use the project management principles and tools to manage projects with a high demand on the budget and schedule. The difference between CPM and PERT is that CPM makes use of a one-time estimate per task, while PERT uses three per task.
