Comparing The Deaths Of Friar Lawrence In William Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet

I think that Friar Lawrence is the most responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths and here is my reasoning for why.
My first claim to why Friar Lawrence is to blame is because he is the one who married
Romeo And Juliet. If he wouldn’t have said the words “Till holy church incorporate two in one”
(found on page page 858), then Romeo and Juliet wouldn't have gotten married and then it would not have led to Romeo thinking Juliet was dead, which brings me to my next reason.
Friar Lawrence made a plan with Juliet to have her consume a potion intended to trick
Paris into thinking Juliet had died. If Juliet was forced to marry Paris, then she would have killed herself earlier, but Friar said, “And if thou darest, I give thee remedy.” (found in Act

Friar Lawrence is to blame for the tragic ends of Romeo and Juliet because he was aware of the risks involved with Romeo and Juliet’s union, yet he continues with the marriage. During the Renaissance period, the duties of a friar included baptism, marriage, teaching, and supplying food and other resources to the poor. However, Friar marries them in secret from the families. It all started with a mistake. Just a simple sentiment of how I could change something that began with horrific bloodshed into the beautiful feeling of love, but this complicated feeling later developed into severe foreshadowing events that even I couldn’t evade. Events that later spiraled into a feeling of doubt and insecurity that made the two lovers, Romeo and Juliet commit suicide. Despite this thought, I could not have escaped this path fate had made, so in return, I the Friar Lawrence, adjudicate myself as innocent from these acts performed. Sometimes when youth need help they will go to a priest or a reverend, however in Romeo and Juliet by Willam Shakespeare Friar Lawrence proved this to be a bad idea. Whether it is the faulty plan of Friar Lawrence, the changing wedding expectations of Lord Capulet, or the terrible decisions Paris makes on his own, the outcome is the same, a tragic loss of life. If the Friar would have been honest to Paris and not given Juliet the plan to get out of the marriage, Paris might not have been so adamant to marry Juliet. If Lord Capulet would have kept to his word or maybe followed marriage customs, Paris wouldn’t have to follow like a puppet on a string. Finally, if Paris himself had made better decisions like keeping the torch light on, not hiding from Romeo and introducing himself before fighting, he might have survived the fight in the tomb.…
