based on a true event close to The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller, that happened in
1692. The Blair Witch Trials were held because a woman was accused of witch craft,
almost identical to Salem, where a group of girls accused over one hundred and fifty men
and women of witchcraft. Witchcraft was a sensitive subject in the 15 th and 16 th century,
which caused multiple unnecessary deaths to take place. This is what makes the Salem
Witch Trials and Blair Witch two of the darkest, most horrid in history.

Both horrific events involve so much exorbitant death and destruction. Witchcraft was a
serious subject in these stories, along with the Devils name being included. Blood
sacrifices were wielded into the Catastrophes to bind spells. The men and women that
were found accused in these stories were hung in front of their towns to set as examples.
Even though the townspeople thought they were doing the work of God, subconsciously
they knew it was wrong. With people being hung, no one could keep track of the
animals, the crops would wilt, and more and more people were disappearing each day.
Each tale started with a woman who had vengeance and fear in her heart and no room for
mercy.
In conclusion, witchcraft was a very serious accusation, and brought The Salem
Witch Trials and The Blair Witch together in coincidental sequence. Innocent men,
women, and children lives were ripped apart by the Devil’s reaper’s hands. All of this
could have been avioded if the town didn’t have greater fear than love in their hearts.
These stories will be forever taught throughout history to remind and teach future
