In 1776 the U.S, was known as the land of opportunity specifically because of the American Dream. It started because of the availability of land then, it became that if people work hard People can prosper become rich despite People race, gender and class. The American Dream is that people’s lives can become better if people work hard. Europeans don't get it because upper class is a huge part of their lives like kings and lords. Of mice and men is a book about dreams, friendship, lineless, and hope. Through John Steinbeck's characters of George, Lennie, Crooks, and candy. This story take place near the town of Soledad, the Salina rivers next to some mountain. The rivers and green and the water is warm from the strong sun. It's was early evening in late summer when George and Lennie going through other place to find the job. During the 1930s when California had Great Depression the migrants workers flocked to California in search of refuge but California hostile toward migrants. They put sign " No Jobs in California" and "No state relief available for nonresident". Which mean it illegal for people who come in California as non residents they will not get any kind opportunity. Set in the Americas during the depression, the book based on Steinbeck's experience during a 1937 the migrants workers in California. It's two man characters George and Lennie who struggle to survive at this time and had dream of having house and some land. And they gonna have rabbits and chicken.
