Comparing The 3-20, And Parallel Verses Of The Quran

have been pursuing the recent debate going on in the Press about Ten Commandments. Quran claims to testify what had been revealed before it (Torah and Gospel). I give passages in Exodus 20 (3-17) and the parallel verses of the Quran to show that Islam also testifies the Ten Commandments (which are upheld by other religions also as Universal Code of conduct.)

N.B. King James’ version is couched in old English. So I have chosen to quote from Holy Bible, New Living Translation, Published by Tyndale House Publishers, Inc., Wheaton , Illinois , 1996

They said, “we found our ancestors worshipping them. (Abraham) said, “Verily, you and your ancestors were in open error” ( 21:52 -54)

7: Do not misuse the name of your LORD the God. The LORD will not let you go unpunished if you misuse His name. “And do not make Allah a target for your oaths for doing good or avoiding evil or reconciling people (2:224)

8-11: “Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it Holy. Six days a week are set apart for your daily duties and regular work. But the seventh day is the day of rest, dedicated to the LORD your God. On that day no one in your household may do any kind of work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; then He rested on the seventh day. That is why the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy. And We said to them, “Do not violate Sabbath, and We took from them a solemn Covenant” (4:154)

“He created the heavens and the Earth in six days, and then He settled down on the Throne to administer matters”. (10:3)

Acts 5:3 “But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?” The Holy Spirit must have revealed to Peter that Ananias was lying, therefore he asked him why he lied. I have heard it said that Ananias would not have been asked this question if he was a lost sinner, as Peter would have known that it is the way of the ungodly to not tell the truth. I find it at least reasonable to believe he was saved but Satan filled his heart to lie.…

OT2100-Week Three-Laws in Leviticus Paper According to Victor P. Hamilton (2015), “In Chs. 17-27 the primary focus is not so much on how God’s people are to worship as on how they are to live; those who worship a holy God will aspire to live holy lives and appropriate the resources that a holy God makes available to them to so order their lives” (p. 282). In Leviticus Chapter 19:19, recorded are laws against mixtures.…

Exegesis Paper I am writing about Obadiah and the fall of Edom. This is a passage about how people and cities will truly reap what they sow. He shows that pride has a fall and that this city must fall to its pride. The neighboring city to Edom is Jerusalem, so passing judgement on Edom is no only teaches Edom a lesson but also teaches Jerusalem how to truly love their enemies. There is a lot of imagery in this passage as well as a few parts that translation has made unclear and is hard to follow the relevance of such a short book in the bible.…

In this essay I am going to argue how the Puritans were selfish. They were selfish because they cared about themselves only and wanted to be best known of what they are. For example in Document B the author states “The eyes of all people are upon us” it explains how they only cared about how people’s eyes were only apon them. Puritans wanted to improve and become bigger people so everyone could see their improvement in being creative.…

It is the dynamic relationship between the rituals, shared by most practicing Jews, alike alongside the mystical influences, in relation to the myths accompanying the Sabbath, that have led Heschel to formulate a unique perspective as to why the seventh day should be treated as a sanctuary in time by all Jews alike. Heschel is most concerned with the concepts of time and space in regards to the Sabbath as well as the midrashim that label the Sabbath as a precursor to the days of messiah. Noting how while nearly everything in the world deals with space and the accumulation of things of that nature, the Sabbath’s focus is rather on time. Heschel expands on this idea claiming that while other creation stories hold a significance on the site of creation, in Judaism, rather than emphasizing site, there is an overarching importance placed on time. He expands on this idea by further connecting how the concepts of space, time, and God are related by going so far as to say that “time is God’s gift to the world of space” (Heschel, p. 100).…

While reading martyr narratives one might see a horror film play out before their eyes. The scenes of torture and brutality should not be considered as just another woman martyr who becomes a saint but a woman who is in a real life horror fiction. These stories are not for people to learn about martyrs, or how to act virtuous, but as a form of entertainment for people. These stories were meant to be used as teaching methods to show people how to be chase and for women to keep their virginity, but from the way the torture scenes are described as more of a horror film and should be considered as part of the horror genre. By dissecting Saint Margaret’s virgin martyr story one will be able to correlate the similarities between the story being…

Christianity is based on the Bible. What does the Bible say about holy days and customs? God warned his people not to learn the way other nations worshiped their pagan gods: "Thou shalt not do to the Lord thy God; for every abomination that the Lord hates, they have done to their gods "(Deuteronomy 12:31). This reference that bears some resemblance to the modern Christmas tree, in Jeremiah 10: 2-5: "Thus saith the Lord: Learn not the way of the nations, nor the signs of the heavens be afraid, though the nations fear them.…

In William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, the moral corruption that occurs between family members causes animosity that results in their downfall, and eventually their ultimate demise. More specifically, the tainted view of an individual in a family may result in the downfall of the other family members involved. Evidence of tainted view of a family member causing undue harm can be found in the relationship between Hamlet and Claudius, Hamlet and Gertrude, and Hamlet and Old King Hamlet. The relationship between Hamlet and Claudius is problematic, largely due to the fact that they both wish death upon the other.…

Like every other Christian, I have heard the story of Abraham and Isaac many times. I have listened to pastors preach about Abraham’s obedience and unwavering faith in God as he prepared to kill his son. And often, I have wondered what Isaac thought as this happened. I wondered if he fought back or if he was mentally and emotionally effected by his own father trying to kill him. I have wondered if this event made him angry with a God that was supposed to love him and care for him.…
